Winter – The season of fun
Briancon is very pleasing during summer as you can take long strolls around town, hike in the mountain area and even go mountain biking, all without worrying about the heat. But the real deal about Briancon is that in winter it becomes the playing ground of fun seeking skiers and snowboarders, who come here to have a blast.
The French ski resort of Briancon is part of the Grande Galaxie Ski Area, with access to 214 individual slopes and 200km worth of cross country skiing trails. The resort boasts 74 ski lifts with a capacity to uplift 74,900 skiers / snowboarders per hour.
In addition to the skiing and snowboarding in Briancon itself (24km of downhill slopes), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Grande Galaxie ski resorts of La Grave, Les Deux Alpes, Puy Saint Vincent and Serre Chevalier.
With slopes above 2500 metres, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.
